10 of the Best Ways to Be a Good Wife

I know, you want to be the best wife for your husband, but what does that mean? Well, eventually, it's up to you and your husband to establish the needs of your relationship and how each partner can do their part to accomplish those needs--and here are 10 advices or guiding principle to start off. However, keep in mind that a marriage is a partnership, so your husband wishes to make an effort too!

1 - Pamper Yourself

The very first thing you must do to be a good wife is to take care of yourself so that you feel good! Eat healthy, exercise regularly and maintain the way you look so that you remain the most attractive woman in his life! Irrespective of your age, if you look good, you will definitely feel better.
2 - Appreciate Him

According to a survey men like to be appreciated. So say a sweet ‘thank you’ when you see that he has made any effort, whether it is for you, your kids or for your house. Your compliments and appreciation will put a smile on his face and joy in his heart.
3 - Make your Husband a Priority

It often happens that wives are so occupied in their every day household chores and kids that they start taking their husbands for granted. Don’t do that. Instead try to spend quality time with your husband.

4 - Tell Him that He is Important

Let him know that he is important for you. Try to take interest in his hobbies and work. But make sure that you don’t overdo it. Be there for his support and not as an obstacle to his freedom.

5 - Give him Space

Every one needs some time to relax, socialise with friends or simply to be alone. To be a good wife, encourage your husband to socialise with family, friends and do the things he enjoys the most.

6 - Don’t Force Him to Change

Never force your husband to behave or act in a particular manner. Most behavioural experts suggest you cannot change others' behaviour. For instance, if you are outgoing and like to socialise and your husband is shy then you can either cut short the duration of social activity or go by yourself. But make sure to thank him when he attends a party for you. If you find something really annoying, then simply let him know or use positive reinforcement for changing that habit.

7 - Have Friends

Most women shrink their social network after marriage and become totally dependent on their husband. Don’t expect your husband to be your partner, lover and best friend. Instead make good friends and have fun. This will help you to bring new energy to your married life.

8 - Believe in your Husband

Even though most men show their brave side to world but at times, they do lack confidence and fear failure. Let him know that the love of his life believes in him even when he does not believe himself.

9 - Pay Compliments

Complimenting to your husband can actually help your relationship. Men like compliments as much as the women do. So keep complimenting!!

10 - Keep the Romance Alive

Marriage does not mean the end of romance. Be affectionate to your partner and let him know that you still find him interesting. You can plan a romantic date, initiate sexual foreplay or simply write a love note and see the smile on his face widening!

10 of 12 Geekiest Wedding Proposals

After months, maybe even years of courting and being with your significant other, it’s time you take your relationship to the next level. Yes, it’s time to get married: dress in your best, walk down the aisle, and promise to be together in sickness and in health, for richer for poorer, ’till death do you part.

You want to make this moment special, but it seems that every wedding proposal idea has already been done. A lot of people have already found a ring inside a slice of cake, or have read a proposal note with the grocery list. Some couples have even gone to the extremes to profess their eternal love to their significant other: skydiving, scuba diving, and some have even proposed marriage in a live baseball game.

You want to make your wedding proposal just as special as your special someone. You want it to be romantic and memorable, but you don’t want to make it look or sound too much like the movies. Weird and wacky is the way to go especially if your partner has a good sense of fun, humor and excitement. Here are some ways to make your wedding proposal memorable, and make your partner give you the sweetest “Yes” he or she will ever give in your lives together.

Here are 10 of 12 Geekiest Wedding Proposals from Oddee.com:

1 - Borderlands Videogame Proposal

Gamer Ben is a huge fan of Borderlands, the popular FPS/RPG hybrid from Gearbox. So when he met girlfriend Tora, he had to sit her down and explain his guilty secret: he was A GAMER, and his Borderlands addiction may well take up hours of his time. Would Tora be okay with this? Well, err, yeah, because like Ben, Tora is a Borderlands nut. When Ben decided to pop The Question, he decided to take a chance and ask Gearbox for some help. And help they did.

The studio spent a week working on a special Borderlands-themed proposal video for Ben to show Tora, featuring some brilliant close-to-the-knuckle quips from the game's robotic mascot, Claptrap. You can watch this amazing clip below, and Tora's response below that. What an awesome bit of fan-service by Gearbox!

She said yes. Take a look at her reaction:

2 - Harry Potter Proposal

Here's how Reddit user Trehlo proposed to his girlfriend. Oh, and be sure to check out the title of the chapter where the rings sits on (The unbreakable vow). Need some pressure, future wife?

3 - Groupon's Proposal

In 2011 on Groupon, Greg H. from Cincinnati proposed to his girlfriend, Dana B, who apparently said yes (it says, the deal is on). Okay, it sounds gimicky, but I have to admit that it's actually pretty cute. The deal is titled “A Surprise for a Dana from a Greg,” and by clicking “buy,” Dana accepted Greg's proposal for $1 (she got $999,998 off the $999,999 value). What a deal!

Groupon had fun with it and threw in some quirkiness. The Fine Print reads: “Groupon entitled to no less than 15% of your marital bliss. Either party may develop a snoring problem. One or both participants will not always look like a 20-year-old. Good luck, you kids.” It also lists The Groupon Guide to: A Successful Marriage, which includes advice like having nacho Thursdays and watching The Negotiator to learn about compromise.

If you were also charmed by Greg and would like to purchase the deal, just click buy and you'll receive the message “Congratulations Dana or Stranger. You are now unofficially obliged to marry Greg!.” Good deal!

4 - Captain Jean-Luc Picard Proposal

We have no information about this young lady, but it is obvious that she is very fortunate to have found a man of such discerning taste and character. “Aye aye, sir” would be an appropriate response.

5 - Treasure Hunt iPhone App Proposal

LinkedIn employee Bryan Haggerty coded a custom iPhone application to send his girlfriend Jeannie Chou on a scavenger hunt throughout San Francisco. The web app included a map containing location points, each one accompanied with a video providing clues on where to go next. In the end, the map points connected to form a <3, and the final destination was the top of a hill in Dolores Park, where Haggerty busted out the big question.

6 - Pokemon Proposal

Is there any better way to propose than with a Pokeball ring box? That depends on who you ask. If you ask a Pokemon fan, probably not.

7 - Mario Proposal

This is a video of a guy proposing to his Mario-loving girlfriend. He decked out his living room to resemble the Mushroom Kingdom, and even had her knock the engagement ring "out" of a question block with her head.

8 - Storm Trooper Proposal

Storm Trooper Proposes at DragonCon in Atlanta.

9 - Bejeweled Game Proposal

Knowing your girlfriend's favorite hobbies is a great start for planning a proposal. For Bernie Peng, that meant using the game 'Bejeweled' to ask Tammy Li to marry him. Peng, a financial software programmer, spent a month tweaking the game so when Li reached a certain score, a ring and the proposal popped up on the screen.

According to Li, he set a pretty low score; she is now sporting an identical pink sapphire engagement ring. The game manufacturer eventually heard about the story. Instead of being angry that Peng had hacked into their game, company officials were so impressed they offered to pay for part of the wedding.

10 - Google Maps Proposal

Michael Weiss-Malik, a Google employee, deserves a lot of credit for this one. What better way to show the world your love than displaying it on Google Maps? Weiss-Malik got his buddies on the Street View team to give him a heads-up on the next time the Street View car was coming out to take pictures. And when that day came, he was well-prepared, holding a banner that read "Proposal 2.0: Marry me Leslie!!" (see above) After that, all he had to was lure Leslie into loading Google Maps and zooming in on the precise coordinates of his romantic stunt.

10 Signs That A Man Is In Love

As women we know that sometimes it can be difficult to determine whether a man is in love with us. Some men just aren't as forthcoming about their feelings as others. There are some definite signs that a man is in love and once you understand what they are, it's much easier to gauge how a man is feeling about you.

Listed below are 10 signs a man is in love. These are signs that are apparent in most guys who are in love with a girl. No one guy is bound to exhibit all the signs, but you can find one or more signs in his behavior. As a girl, you should not take these signs on their face value and assume that the guy is in love with you. If he exhibits these signals it just means that there is higher probability that he is in love with you.

1 - He behaves shy around you

He might be an extrovert of the highest nature but he behaves shy when he’s talking to you. This can be taken as definite sign that the man is in love and that you hold a special place in his heart.
2 - He calls you on some pretext or the other

If it becomes obvious that he called you for no specific reason but just to talk to you, though he cites some made up reason, then you can sure that he is interested in you. He might even send messages or emails specifically with the intention of initiating contact.
3 - He tries to make eye contact with you ever so often

Whenever you are around he tries to make eye contact with you. Whenever you look at him you see him looking at you either directly or overtly. These are obvious signs that he has a crush on you.
4 - He has a different body language when you are around

You can see an apparent change in his body language when he sees you around. He might unconsciously touch up his face or hair, he might adjust his tie or play with his collar. This would indicate a rush of adrenaline in him whenever you are around, definite sign that a man is in love.
5 - He blushes when you pay him a compliment

People tend to blush when complimented so this is not an obvious sign but if you detect that he blushes specifically around you rather than with others then it would be indicate that he has special feelings for you. This may not be true for all men but a good majority of them.

6 - He stammers while talking to you

When a man is in love and is infatuated with a girl he gets tongue tied while talking to her. This is natural and can be taken as a definite sign that a guy likes a girl in a special way. Though the guy might actually feel miserable about stammering, it looks pretty cute from the girl’s perspective.
7 - He tries to help you with your work

If you see that a guy is making an effort to help you specifically, it would indicate that he is interested in you. He might help you with your office work or may offer to drop you home or pick you up for work, stuff like that. These are signs that a man is in love.
8 - He remembers your birthday

Most men are not good at remembering dates. If he remembers your birthday you can take it as a strong sign of his interest in you. In all likelihood he will get you a birthday gift too.
9 - He gives you preferential treatment

If there are a few girls in your group, or office circle, and you find that he gives preferential treatment to you alone then it would indicate his interest. You might see him smiling at you specifically or he might get you coffee out of his own interest, stuff like that.
10 - He starts improving his personal appearance

If a man is in love, he transforms his external appearance – hairstyle, dressing sense et al – in a short period of time after you came around in his vicinity, it would indicate that he is trying to impress you. Priming up is a definite sign that a man is in love.

So these are top signs a man is in love with you; remember not to generalize though. You can stay comforted in the knowledge that if a guy likes a girl he will surely make his intention known, even if he is an introvert of the highest kind. Men are like that.

10 Characteristics Men Find Attractive in a Woman

When we talk about attraction, we are not talking about lust (which is also a form of attraction). A man can be physically attracted to a woman, without any feelings of love, and this form of attraction is purely primal and is focused completely on the "body" of the woman involved. I found this list from great advice site whatdomenreallythink.com and hell, I really love it!

What we are talking about, in this article, is the attraction which is synonymous with love. Relationships are built on a love based attraction, so what's important would be know the traits in a woman, that men find most attractive, which makes them fall in love.

The following are some of the traits that guys find attractive in women. The list in not in any particular order of preference, and it can be assumed that the 10 factors make an impact in unison.
Soft heartedness

Men are more likely to fall in love with a woman who is soft, or warm, hearted, than a woman who is cold. Guys love to be mothered (not nagged but cared for), and so they tend to fall for a woman who offers them acceptance and warmth. This would have to be the trait that men find most attractive in women.

Modesty

Men fall in love with the "modest" girls, and lust after the "hot" ones. Modesty in behavior, dressing and talking is what men look for in their "long-term" partner. Though guys find "hot" women attractive, it's mostly physical in nature and they lose interest after a few passionate encounters in the bed. There is also a common consent among men that "hot" women are less reliable, and high maintenance. In short, men love women who they can take home to their mother.
Being Feminine

"Most Men" like feminine women. Feminity is all about being soft, kind hearted, understanding and caring. This attraction is justified by the fact that men are attracted to traits in a woman which they themselves lack.
Character

Men are attracted to a woman who projects a strength of character and integrity. The word "fidelity" is becoming rarer nowadays even among women, who were historically more loyal of the two, and men find this to be bad news. So men are constantly on the look out for a woman who can invoke trust through her strength of character.
The Woman's voice

Women are naturally endowed with a beautiful voice which men find highly attractive. Some men love a strong voice in a woman, some prefer a soft tone, with a high pitch. Some women have a husky voice and many guys find that attractive too.

Her Smile

A smile can easily win over a male heart. If, as a girl, you are prone to having a smiling face you are more likely to be approached by guys than when you have a smug, or frowning, face.
Her Eyes

Next to the smile, this is another facial feature that men get attracted to. Some men simply fall in love with the woman's eyes. The eyes can speak a thousand words and this is very much true with it comes to attracting men.
The Woman's Hair

Most men get attracted by moderately long hair or anything close to shoulder length as that looks more feminine. Having said that, there are a lot of men who find women with short hair attractive.

Physical Structure

As far as physical features are concerned, men get attracted to a woman's skin tone, lips, height and waist-to-hip ratio. Contrary to popular assumptions men are not bothered much about the size of the breasts or derriere when it comes to looking for a life mate. These factors are pretty much insignificant.

Sense Of Humor

Men generally get attracted to women with a good sense of humor. A Woman who can understand and laugh with them. Sense of humor is not necessarily the ability to crack jokes but the ability to understand and laugh at one.

So these are the ten important traits that men find attractive in women. But again, every man has his unique taste. The above points are common to most men but not for all. Look at it this way. A man may look for and get attracted to such qualities in a woman that he lacks himself. For instance, a tough guy will look for a soft female. Hope you got the idea.

Bear in mind that for every woman there is a man out there, so just relax and look out for him.

10 Ways That Can Turn Off Your Man

Women are called the “fairer” sex for a reason, they are inherently capable of being more dainty and pleasing that the “grosser” sex, the men. As the saying goes, girls are made of sugar and spice and everything nice, which is why they are perfectly complementary to men.

Men get turned on at the drop of a hat, and most women know that it does not take much for them have a man jumping the hoops. But as humans, men are just as prone to being repulsed by certain tendencies in women which induce a complete turn off. So what are the things that can turn off your man?

I stumbled to this 10 list from whatdomenreallythink.com and I decided to repost it here.

These are the 10 common things that turn off most men. Women can come up with an infinite list of things about men that turns them off, because men quite easily can be the more obnoxious sex in more than one way.

The “silent” treatment

Most women have a tendency to use “silent” treatment when they are hurt or angry about a certain behavior in their man. They put on a cold front and refuse to reply in a normal manner. The usual reply to all the queries that a guy puts through would be a pert “nothing”. This is highly irritating to men and in many cases it makes them want to tear their hair off. A man would be much happier if his woman is willing to talk out the issues instead of starting a cold war.
Being a cold fish in the bed

Some women, through no fault of theirs, are completely unresponsive in the bed. A guy is bound to feel turned off and frustrated when he finds that he’s the only moving object on the bed. Sex is supposed to be playful and fun, entailing a lot of movements and noises. The more energetic it is, the more fun and pleasurable. There are many women have are very inhibited and shy about their sexuality which ends up making them act like a cold fish when in bed. Most men take it as a personal insult to their sexual prowess.
Facial and body hair growth

Men are hairy all over that’s the very reason why they are attracted to a hairless body in their woman (apart from the head hair and eye brows of course). Most men are turned on by waxed legs and arms, and they are equally turned off if they detect anything hairy on a woman’s body. Facial hair is a complete turn off for most men especially around the chin or lip area. This is not a judgment but a unconscious reaction.
Being overly possessive

Men are usually the “chasers” and they like to stay that way. If a guy finds out a girl is “chasing” him he is bound to lose his interest in her. To keep the guy interested the girl must remain to be a challenge. If she gets overly possessive about him it would just turn him off.
Too religious

Some women tend to get overly religious or spiritual which can be a huge turn off for men. It’s true that there are many men who are religious fanatics, who take their Gods too seriously, but these very men would find it a turn off to be with an overly religious woman, for very obvious reasons.
A nagging attitude

There is something about men that gets women to nag them especially as the relationship ages. Most men complain about the hard time they have contending with the continuous complaints and scorns that their wife dishes out in the name of “self improvement”. Women on the other hand have no clue what the fuss is all about, after all they are only trying to “improve” their man.
Too attached to her family

It’s quite a pain for most men to have to contend with their “in laws” owing to their wife’s obsessive attachment with her parents. There is nothing wrong with being attached to your parents as long as it does not start eating into the personal time that you should be spending with your husband, this is what most men feel. It’s quite frustrating for the guy to find his wife on phone with her mother through most of the evening.
Female chauvinism

A man and a woman are made in the image of god as the Bible puts it. And it’s quite obvious that a man needs a woman to complete him and vice versa. In spite of this there are certain people, in each sex, that end up becoming chauvinistic. A feministic attitude, or a bossy nature, in a woman is what men find extremely irritating, and it’s a big turn off. Many feminists would like men to conform to certain unnatural standards that are completely contrary to a manly nature, a woman who depicts such an attitude would soon find her man running away from her.
A lazy “home maker”

Men have been brought up to look at their woman as their home maker. There’s nothing chauvinistic about it because that was the natural order of things for a long time and it’s deeply embedded in male conditioning. So men love women who are good home makers and are turned off by a woman who expects the man to cook and clean. This may sound harsh to many feminists but this is what men feel inherently. Men are naturally quite bad at “home” management and so they rely on women to play this part in their life.

Too “career” oriented

There are many marriages that have gone into ruins because of the corporate culture of today’s age. It’s quite common for the husband and wife to be employed in most households, and this gives rise to many ego clashes and misunderstandings especially when the man finds his wife becoming too “career centric” to care for her family. Men have traditionally loved the feminine characteristics in a woman and being a home make is one of them. An overly career centric wife is usually a turn off for the man.

The fact remains that men and women complement each other and its beauty is most evident in an intimate, and healthy, relationship.

10 of Best Ways to Make Your Marriage Divorce-proof

For starters, no public squawking at each other. Read on for a few more smart (and funny) suggestions from these happily wed comedians.

Here is a great post from realsimple.com by Samantha Bee and Jason Jones which is a good list related to marriage and divorce! Check it out!

We have been hitched for almost 10 years now, and until recently our number one piece of advice would have been: Don’t write about how to make your marriage divorceproof. It’s hubris! But we like to take risks (that’s piece of advice number two), so we knocked on wood, threw salt over our shoulders, and forged ahead with all the unstoppable energy that a couple with two kids under the age of five can muster. (Eating a pile of old Halloween candy helped, too.) Ultimately, we came up with this list of marriage rules and reminders—all of which, we hope, are cheaper and more fun than therapy.

1. Realize that if you can agree on what constitutes a clean room, you can agree on anything.

If you are the kind of person who wants the vacuum tracks on the living-room carpet to last all week (as in, Jason), you need to understand that your spouse is physically unable to hover three inches off the floor when traveling from point A to point B. You may have to shoulder the burden of raking the shag rug twice a day yourself. Conversely, if you are the type of person who “gets around ” to wiping up a raw chicken–juice spill on the counter (for example, Sam), you should know that if you want to live with other humans, you need to surpass the hygiene standards of, say, the average fraternity-house bathroom. Fortunately, if you can compromise on the red hot–button subject of cleanliness, your marriage is unlikely to be thrown off course by comparatively less volatile topics, like politics, religion, and money.
2. If you’re irritated by your partner, imagine him as a small child.

We know! You totally don’t want to try this! It sounds awful! (And maybe even not that much of a stretch.) But trust us—this is an amazing way to see him from a fresh angle. Here’s what to do: While your partner is puttering around and looking idle, imagine him at age five. Awww. Isn’t he adorable? And so smart! It’s easy to forget how appealing your spouse is when you are looking at him through a prism of all the chores that he has yet to accomplish (fixing the garage-door opener, booking the tree-removal service…we could go on).
3. No fisticuffs in public.

Take this example: We were at a picnic with a group of friends when the wife of one of the couples present casually announced that she had bought their family a house. In another country. Without consulting the husband. He turned about 14 shades of red, and they began fighting at the top of their lungs. Cut to everyone else with their heads down, forensically examining their egg-salad sandwiches as though they contained the secrets of the human genome. You do not want to be That Couple Who Ruined the Otherwise Delightful Picnic.
4. Marry someone with a backbone who appreciates that you possess one of your own.

That said, try to have bendy backbones if possible. Don’t attempt to win every argument and get your way all the time. Who could bear all that responsibility, anyway? Repeat this spouse-mollifying phrase after us: “Yes, honey, I will see the Transformers sequel on one of our precious and rare date nights. But on our next excursion, I get to choose a period piece featuring people in bonnets who churn their own butter.”

5. Procrastinate.

Yes, we know things need to be done, but seriously. Put your BlackBerry away and stop worrying about the broken garage-door opener. Have dessert in lieu of dinner. Watch old John Hughes movies. Hold hands. There, aren’t they smoother than how you remembered them?
6. Have sex with each other.

And if you can’t have sex with each other for some reason, let your spouse know that you are thinking about having sex with him and that you are looking forward to the next time you are both available for sex. Like, in 2012. Try sending a “sext”; apparently it’s all the rage.

7. Accept that everybody needs alone time.

Sometimes your spouse needs to go to the bathroom for 45 minutes. Look, he’s not going to the bathroom the whole time; he’s trying to get away from you. And that’s OK. Maybe you’re being annoying. Sometimes you can be kind of annoying, you know.

8. If you have to fight, walk and fight.

In our experience, arguments stem more from being cooped up together in tight quarters than from the issue at hand. Plus, getting fresh air is good for you, and it will give you more energy for No. 6. (Hey, everyone knows that makeup No. 6 is the best kind.)
9. Let your spouse in on 90 percent of your day-to-day routine.

Save the other 10 percent for your bathroom time. Sam, for example, will never allow Jason to see her lurching to put on a pair of panty hose, and he never wishes for her to see him struggling to shave the back of his neck. It’s those small things that keep the mystery alive.
10. When you buy gifts for each other, give them at least a full minute of thought.

Sam’s mother once gave her partner a giant meat grinder for Christmas so that he (an extremely reluctant cook) could make her tastier hamburgers. In our opinion, gifts that require someone to perform a household task don’t count as gifts. A present should convey the message “I love you, but most of all, I get you.” (Yes, that’s a tough sentiment to express with a big-box–store gift card. Ahem.) Like playing chess or figuring out Facebook privacy settings, delighting a longtime spouse is a genuine challenge—which (duh) is what makes it worth the effort.
